Produced by the pharmaceutical company Squibb back in the 1950’s, Testosterone Enanthate is a slow acting testosterone compound with a half life of 2-3 weeks, lasting in the blood after administration. Testosterone Enanthate is very effective for promoting large increases in muscle mass and strength in a matter of weeks, as well as decreasing body fat levels.
Designed to provide a sustained release of its active ingredient, it only needs to be administered once fort nightly for hormone replacement therapy (HRT). On the other hand bodybuilders will inject Testosterone Enanthate on a weekly basis for physique enhancement, at a dosage of 200-700mg’s per week and will achieve notable gains in muscle.
Noted as a potent mass builder Testosterone Enanthate will increase nitrogen retention, libido, protein synthesis and promotion of other growth mediating factors in the body.
Conversely owing to the compound converting to estrogen via aromitisation, estrogenic side effects may occur, such as an increase in blood pressure, comprimised lipid profiles (increase in bad cholestrol), this however can be off set by taking other compounds such as Nolvadex or clomid aiding cardiovascular health.
For the treatment of HRT in men (androgen insufficency), a dosage of 100 – 300mg’s every two – three weeks is recommended. For training purposes and experienced bodybuilders, 300-600 mg taken once per week, exhibited very favourable gains in muscle size. Again it is not uncommon for advanced and competitive pro bodybuilders to take in excess of 1000mg per week.
Taking Testosterone Enanthate in much higher doses could dramatically increase side effects though, so caution should be taken, if any unwanted side effects occur, to combat this, the user should either stop the Testosterone Enanthate, lower the dose or seek advice from a trained physician.
Women should be advised of Testosterone Enanthate potential virilising effects, these can include growth of the cliterus, increase body/facial hair, and deepening of the voice.
Many forms of testosterone enanthate exist on the black market, so be wary as many are counterfeited and fake.
